Legumes.org will be the entry site for integration of legume crop-species sequence data with the model legumes whose genomes are currently being sequenced: Medicago truncatula and Lotus japonicus. Data from the genome projects will be integrated with data from gene-discovery projects, presenting a resource for smaller projects shown in the context of major sequencing efforts.

As part of the Legume Information Network, data from these resources will be developed under a semantic BioMOBY infrastructure to ensure the availability and interoperability with other bioinformatics resources. This project is being developed in cooperation with the Legume Information System.
